What services does iAccountant provide?

iAccountant provides bookkeeping, bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up services, QuickBooks support, tax preparation and tax-related services, and virtual CFO/accounting advisory services for individuals and small businesses.

Who do you work with?

We primarily work with small businesses, independent professionals, sole proprietors, and other clients who need reliable bookkeeping, accounting, or tax support.

Do you work with clients outside New York?

Yes. iAccountant is based in New York, but most services can be provided virtually to clients throughout the United States, subject to applicable tax and regulatory requirements.

Are you a CPA firm?

No. iAccountant is not a CPA firm and does not represent itself as one. Services are provided by an IRS Enrolled Agent with an M.S. in Accounting and extensive accounting and financial experience.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally authorized tax practitioner credentialed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Enrolled Agents have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS on matters including examinations, collections, and appeals.

Do you prepare tax returns?

Yes. iAccountant provides tax preparation services for individuals and qualifying small businesses based on the nature and complexity of the return. Please contact us to discuss your specific tax situation and availability.

Can you help if my bookkeeping is behind?

Yes. Cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping services are available for businesses with overdue, incomplete, or incorrectly categorized books. We can review your records and determine the work needed to bring them up to date.

Do I need to use QuickBooks?

Not necessarily. However, QuickBooks Online is one of the primary accounting platforms supported by iAccountant. We can discuss your existing accounting system and determine whether a change is necessary.
 

Can you help set up QuickBooks Online?

Yes. We can assist with QuickBooks Online setup, account organization, bank and credit-card connections, transaction categorization, reconciliations, and ongoing bookkeeping support.
 

Do you provide payroll services?

Payroll support may be available as part of your accounting or bookkeeping services. Third-party payroll software and processing fees are separate unless specifically included in your service agreement.
 

What is included with monthly bookkeeping?

Services vary depending on the selected plan and your business needs, but may include transaction categorization, bank and credit-card reconciliations, financial statements, bookkeeping review, and ongoing accounting support.

Can you handle accounts payable and accounts receivable?

Accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and related accounting support may be available as part of Virtual CFO or customized accounting services depending on your needs.
 

What is a Virtual CFO service?

Virtual CFO services provide higher-level financial and accounting support without the cost of hiring a full-time CFO. Depending on the engagement, services may include financial reporting, cash-flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounts receivable and payable oversight, and management reporting.
 

How much do your services cost?

Bookkeeping and advisory pricing depends on the service level and complexity of your accounting needs. Current starting prices and service packages are available on our Pricing page.
 

Tax preparation and special projects may be quoted separately after reviewing the work required.
 

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

Service terms depend on the engagement. Any pricing, recurring services, responsibilities, and cancellation terms will be explained before you begin.
 

How do I send my financial information and documents?

The appropriate method depends on the service being provided. We will explain how to securely provide the documents and information required during onboarding.
 

Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents, banking credentials, or other sensitive financial information through unsecured communication methods.
 

Will I have to provide my online banking password?

No. You should not provide your online banking username or password to iAccountant. When appropriate, accounting software can connect to financial institutions through authorized bank-feed connections.

How does the process work?

Start by contacting iAccountant to discuss your accounting or tax needs. We will review the scope of work, explain the appropriate service and pricing, and provide onboarding instructions if you decide to proceed.
 

Can I contact you before deciding which service I need?

Absolutely. If you are unsure which service or bookkeeping plan is appropriate, contact us and briefly describe what you need. We can discuss your situation before you select a service.
